Where does CheckSekolah's data come from?
From three Ministry of Education Malaysia registries, all as at 31 Jul 2026: 10,258 government schools from EMIS, 23,903 kindergartens from e-Prasekolah, and 620 private and international schools from the SMIPS private-institution registry. Nothing is estimated, inferred or added. A field that is empty in the registry is shown empty here rather than filled in, and every institution page carries its KPM registration code so any record can be checked against the source.

What cleaning was applied?
Formatting only, never facts. Malay place names are title-cased. Phone numbers are normalised to +60 format against the MCMC national numbering plan, and values that cannot be a valid Malaysian number are dropped rather than displayed. Postcodes are re-derived from the full address where the source record had captured a lot number instead. Town names are re-derived where the source truncated them. Every field that is empty in the registry stays empty here.
Can I get the data in bulk?
Bulk CSV and JSON downloads are no longer published on this page. Researchers, journalists and public bodies can request an extract by writing to support@checksekolah.my with what you need and what it is for. The underlying facts remain public records of the Ministry of Education Malaysia and can also be obtained from KPM directly.
