Private tuition centres (pusat tuisyen) must be registered with the Ministry of Education under the Education Act 1996, via the state education department (JPN). The registration certificate should be displayed at the centre. Ask for it if you don't see it — unregistered centres are not inspected for safety or teaching standards.
